Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS – Multi-platinum country singer Dylan Scott, Grammy-award-winning pop band Train and Comedian Jeff Dunham will be the grandstand acts at the Eastern Idaho State Fair.
Eastern Idaho Fair Board Manager Brandon Bird made the announcement Tuesday afternoon to local media and other guests at the Colonial Theater in Idaho Falls. The fair, which is celebrating its 123rd year, is happening August 29 through Sept. 6. Tickets will go on sale for the general public beginning Friday, April 18.
Nashville Tribute Band Due West will be the opening act for Scott and Edwin McCain will open for Train.
Several local artists will be performing as well, including “America’s Got Talent” finalist Evie Clair and Vanessa Carpenter.
“Saddle Up” is the theme this year. While it will include horse racing and a rodeo, Bird said the theme isn’t just about horses.
“It’s about taking life by the reins. We’re calling on everyone — show up and enjoy the ride and make memories that are worth their weight in gold,” Bird told the crowd.
Other acts include hypnotist Richard Barker, Sword-swallower Dan Meyer, Mimealot and more.
“We look forward to seeing you. Saddle up and join us,” Bird said. “We’ll see all of you at the Eastern Idaho State Fair.”
