The following is a news release from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.

AMMON – Bonneville County Commissioners have reopened a portion of the back country road areas that were closed for the winter.

Although some of these roads are now open, deputies want to remind drivers some roads are still being plowed or maintained by Road and Bridge Crews and will remain closed until they are safe for travel. Drivers should take note of the posted road closed signs positioned in areas that may appear passable, but are still being cleared and made safe. In other words, if there is still a Road Closed sign in your path, it’s a clear indicator there are hazards, equipment crews working, or snow blocking the way for safe travel.

Drivers who travel beyond Road Closed signs are subject to criminal charges and costs related to tow or rescue. Waiting until roads are completely open significantly aides Road and Bridge crews in properly clearing and preparing the area for safe travel.

Back country roads that are NOW OPEN are as follows:

  • Eagle Pass
  • Kepps Crossing
  • Meadow Creek Road
  • Fall Creek Road
  • A portion of Jack Knife Creek Rd. (still snow covered, use caution)

Back country roads that are STILL CLOSED and snow covered:

  • Bone Road past the Day Parking Lot
  • Blackfoot Reservoir Road
  • McCoy Creek Road
