FORT HALL — The Fort Hall Fire Department is responding to an active fire on Friday afternoon on Hawthorne Road between Cemetery Road and Edmo Road.

Fort Hall Fire Incident Commander Lawrence Wadsworth reports that the fire has destroyed multiple structures and spread into a grass field, where multiple acres have burned. The exact acreage and extent of damage are currently unknown.

Fire personnel remain on scene working to contain the fire and assess the situation. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

Residents are asked to avoid the area and allow emergency personnel to safely conduct firefighting operations.

FORT HALL — Firefighters are currently battling a fire north of the Portneuf Valley.

The Fort Hall Fire Department is working to put out a fire near the intersection of Hawthorne Road and Lodge Road on the Fort Hall Reservation. It is unclear if any other fire agencies are assisting in the response.

Starting at the intersection, the road is closed. Fort Hall police officers are on scene, redirecting traffic down Lodge Road.

There are residences in the area, and a structure clearly caught fire, but it’s unclear to what extent. It’s also unclear if there have been any injuries resulting from this incident.
