Former Massachusetts Governor and presidential hopeful Mitt Romney versus five-time world heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield. The pair will battle it out in the boxing ring Friday night in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Thursday night, in front of over a hundred fans, Romney weighed in at 179 pounds. Holyfield’s weight was 236.5.
The fight is sold out and is expected to raise one million dollars.
All the money will go toward Charityvision – an organization run by Romney’s son, Josh, aimed at curing blindness.
“We’re in 21 countries all around the world,” Josh Romney said. “We partner with local doctors and we take people who have no means and give them their sight back. It really changes their lives in an instant.”
Holyfield and Romney say they look forward to the fight that will long be remembered.
“To have a man like Evander Holyfield come here – the heavyweight champion of the world time and time again,” Mitt Romney said. “[He’s] someone who our kids could look up to. This is a good man. He’s a religious man. He’s got 11 kids of his own and he’s here to help cure blindness throughout the world.”
