IDAHO FALLS — Baseball fans in eastern Idaho don’t have to go far to see one the best baseball parks in the country.

Baseball Digest recently named Melaleuca Field the Best Rookie League Ballpark in the country. The home of the Chukars made it all the way through a bracket where fans got the vote.

Fan Aaron Freer says he comes for the baseball. “For the Chukars. You got to have home town pride. You have to that’s what it’s about.”

Freer also is impressed with the surface his Chukars play on. “The field itself. The upkeep of it just looks amazing. I’ve played baseball for a long time and the field looks amazing,” he said.

Other fans, like Justin Christensen, enjoy the overall appeal of Melaleuca Field.

“By far the atmosphere. The atmosphere is very family friendly, which is a big deal,” Christensen said. “I think they do a great job with the fees of everything. Concessions are great. Yeah, it’s one of the best ballparks I’ve been to.”

Regardless of which attraction is your favorite, the next time you go to a baseball game at Melaleuca Field, you will be at a baseball gem right here in the Gem State.
