IDAHO FALLS – Preparations are underway for the second annual 9/11 Heroes Tribute run on Saturday.
Participants have signed up for a 5K or 10K run or walk in honor of those killed on Sept. 11, 2001 and police officers, firefighters, and EMS personnel everywhere.
“We want to remember those who risk their lives daily to protect our community,” said Garrett Meikle, the sponsor of the event and owner of Paul Davis Restoration.
Proceeds from the run go to local foundations that support families of fallen heroes.
The event will be held at Snake River Landing in Idaho Falls. It begins at 8:30 a.m. with a memorial ceremony. The race starts at 9:00 a.m. and lunch is provided by Billman’s BBQ at 11 a.m.
