Rexburg Police report Amanda Rae Henry of Fremont County was driving erratically and drove off the road at the intersection of 6th South and 3rd West and drove into the building.
Missy Groom, manager of The Towers, told the BYU-Idaho Scroll several witnesses saw the crash.
“We don’t know the exact speed she was going,” Groom told the newspaper. “Witnesses say she was going probably 40-50 mph and that she came up the curb, hit the wall and then hit the pillar and then the back of the building.”
Capt. Randy Lewis said the driver was “pretty banged up.” She was transported to Madison Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Henry admitted to police to being under the influence of meth. After being treated she was arrested for misdemeanor driving under the influence and for a Fremont County felony probation violation.
She was booked into the Madison County Jail. No bond has been set.
