Train crashes into semi-truck on Iona Road

AMMON — A semi-truck crashed into a train at the railroad tracks just east of Holmes on Iona Road, the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office said.
The accident occurred around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept 29. The semi-tractor and trailer were westbound on Iona Road, and the semi failed to yield to the northbound train, according to a news release. The train could not stop immediately and struck the front of the semi.
No injuries have been reported, and no one was taken to the hospital.
The road is temporarily blocked.
