Seat: City Council
A former Rigby mayor hopes to serve in city government again.
Keith Smith, a 45-year resident of Rigby, previously served for eight years on the City Council as well as five years as the city’s mayor. He says he still has things he can offer.
As a business owner in Rigby for 19 years, Smith believes he has the knowledge and background to help shape the future of the community to where it needs to be.
Smith reminds people of some of his accomplishments when he previously served, such as the waste-water treatment plant he presided over as mayor. He says he was able to reach out and secure a 0 percent loan that saved the city almost $6 million in interest alone.
Among his goals if he were to be re-elected is to maintain the 90-day reserve he established when mayor as a safety net for the city.
