Rexburg City Council candidates talk booting, BYU-Idaho and growth

Four men and two women hope to become the next members of the Rexburg City Council.
Three seats are up for election on Nov. 3 and each candidate believes they are the best person for the job.
Sally Smith, Jordan Busby, Justin Egbert, William Harding, Vince Haley and Tisha Flora all agreed to participate in an EastIdahoNews.com debate hosted by Mark Richardson.
The candidates were each asked the following questions and given 90 seconds to respond:
1. Economic Development is vital to the health of any city. There are concerns that there may be too many or too few regulations to create an environment for new business and high paying jobs. Where do you stand on city ordinances?
2. Brigham Young University – Idaho is an intricate part of the community. However, growth of the school, new apartments and parking are difficulties that need coordination with the city. What are your views with growth and community development?
3. A topic of contention is booting. Do you support the business of booting in Rexburg and do you feel it needs to be regulated or would you vote to ban it all together?
The candidates were also allowed sixty seconds to give a closing statement.
