Ronald Cardwell, 36, of Rancho Santa Fe, California has been identified as the man who was killed in this accident. He was driving a 2006 Jeep Commander.

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.
ISLAND PARK — A motorist was killed during a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer Thursday evening.
Idaho State Police responded to the crash at 6:20 p.m. near milepost 376 on U.S. Highway 20 between Ashton and Island Park.
Matthew A. Martin, 36, of Salt Lake City, was driving northbound in a 2016 Freightliner pulling a 2015 Great Dane trailer, when a southbound vehicle drove left of the center line. The vehicles collided head-on, and both vehicles came to rest off of the southbound shoulder of the roadway.
Martin was wearing a seatbelt. He was treated and released at the scene of the crash. The driver of the southbound vehicle succumbed to his injuries at the crash scene. The name is being withheld at this time until the family has been notified.
Idaho State Police was assisted at the crash scene by Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Island Park EMS, Island Park Fire Department, Ashton EMS, and Ashton Fire Department.
The crash investigation is continuing.
