East Idaho cheer squads win big awards at state competition
Published at | Updated atNAMPA — The Madison High School Cheerleaders performed at the Idaho State Cheer Competition Friday and placed in several categories.
The squad came in third overall in the 5A Co-ed Show division, along with receiving first place in Co-ed Stunt Team, 2nd place in Co-ed show routine and first place in academics.
This is the second year the stunt team has placed first in their routine.
The Standard Journal Reports the Sugar-Salem Diggers placed first in pom dance, first in sideline, second in show and first in single stunt group.
Highland High School trumped as state champions in the 5A division, Burley came first in the 4A division, American Falls placed first overall in 3A, and Oakley placed First in 2A.
59 cheerleading squads and 36 dance teams competed at the Idaho State Dance and Cheer Championship.
