The following is a news release from the Idaho Falls Police Department.

IDAHO FALLS — The Idaho Falls Police Department is proud to announce the addition of Officers
Corey Sato, Zachary Keating and Eric Lyke to the city’s police force.

Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper officially swore in the officers during a ceremony held at the
Idaho Falls Council Chambers Thursday afternoon.

“Today is a great day as we are pleased to have these gentlemen join our department,” Idaho Falls
Police Chief Mark McBride said during the ceremony. “Because of the values and attributes they
possess, they will do great things as they serve the city.”

Sato, a native of Pocatello, spent the last 15 years serving in the United States Army Reserves as a
heavy wield mechanic. During his military service, he was deployed for 15 months to Iraq.
After leaving the military, Sato decided to pursue a career in law enforcement to continue serving
the community while remaining in Eastern Idaho.

Sato and his wife, Maygen, have one daughter. He enjoys being outdoors, especially hunting and
fishing.

Keating, an Idaho Falls native, also has a military background having served in the United States
Marine Corps for five years. Following his military service, Keating enrolled in the Idaho State
University Law Enforcement program. He said law enforcement is something he’s always been
interested in doing.

He graduates from ISU in May.

Aside from spending time with his two children, Keating enjoys being mechanical and restoring
cars and motorcycles.

Lyke, a Boise native, has always been compelled to pursue a civil service career. He first started out
as a firefighter and enjoyed it, but said he found law enforcement appealed to him more.

He began his law enforcement career when he took a position as a detention officer at the
Bonneville County Jail seven years ago. During his time at the jail, he became acquainted with many
of the IFPD officers and decided to apply as a patrol officer with the city.

Lyke has a daughter, who keeps him busy during his free time.
