Woman reports attempted abduction at Ammon grocery store
Published at | Updated atAMMON — The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible suspicious situation that occurred Thursday evening at Albertson’s on Hitt Rd.
A woman reported that as she walked out of the store with her young daughter, two men in a van started to slowly drive toward them.
The woman says the sliding door opened and it appeared the passenger was about to jump out of the vehicle.
“One of the men yelled, ‘Go, go, go!’ and then they drove away,” Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Bryan Lovell tells EastIdahoNews.com.
Lovell says the woman was concerned the men may have been trying to abduct her child.
Investigators believe the men may have been playing the game Pokemon Go but are asking anyone who have seen or heard anything suspicious to contact them.
“We don’t have much of a suspect description other than they were two Hispanic males in a tan van,” Lovell says. “We are continuing to investigate the situation.”
