IDAHO FALLS — The Henry’s Creek Fire continues to grow, making rapid runs through unseasonably dry fuels. This evening, fire managers mapped the fire at 43,235 acres. Three active fire heads are pushing east from the Reservoir with backing occurring as far south as Bull Canyon. Air resources had some difficulty making retardant and water drops today due to high winds and low visibility.

In a previous press release, officials reported two cabins had been lost. However, once the smoke cleared, Idaho Falls Fire Department was able to determine the cabins were still intact. Some secondary buildings and outlying structures have been damaged. No significant injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
