Man pleads guilty to stealing firearms from Guns N Gear
Published at | Updated atIDAHO FALLS — A man accused of stealing 16 guns from a firearms store in Idaho Falls pleaded guilty to two felony charges Tuesday morning.
Travis Castro, 30, was charged with one grand burglary and three grand theft charges in Bonneville County in connection to the theft that occurred at Guns N Gear in August.
Castro appeared before District Judge Bruce Pickett Tuesday to be arraigned. During the hearing, he pleaded guilty to one felony count of burglary and one felony count of grand theft.
The two other charges were dismissed.
Castro was arrested in Rexburg Aug. 18 after leading police on a high speed pursuit that ended in a crash. He pleaded guilty to eluding, grand theft by possession and possession of meth in Madison County before being transferred to Bonneville County on the theft charges.
Castro will be sentenced in Madison County on Oct. 31. He will face sentencing in Bonneville County on a later date.
