‘1 Town 1 Heart’ fundraiser being held today for victims of deadly crash

IDAHO FALLS — A fundraiser will be held today with proceeds going to the families of four people injured or killed in a car crash last month.
The “1 Town 1 Heart Fundraiser” will include a bake sale, silent auction, raffle, bounce houses, community yard sale, food and activities.
Money raised will be distributed to the families of Nickolas Kirby and Brittney Jamesen, who remain hospitalized at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, and the families of Ivy Vigliotti and Asher Strubel, who are deceased.
Nickolas, Ivy and Asher collided with a vehicle being driven by Jamesen at 45th W. and 17th S. on May 22. Ivy and Asher both died and Nickolas and Jamesen remain in critical condition.
“So many of us in the community have been impacted by this horrible crash and we are wanting to serve these families but don’t know how,” Miranda Smith, an organizer of the fundraiser, tells EastIdahoNews.com. “This is a way to help and it’s been so uplifting to see the community pull together.”
Smith, who is friends with Jamesen, began coordinating the fundraiser last week with Trisha McDonald. Within 24 hours, they received over $5,000 in donations for the raffle and silent auction. Reed’s Dairy, Pizza Pie Café and Austin Kade will be on-site donating their proceeds to the cause.
“I am so overwhelmed by the generosity of the people & businesses around us,” Smith says. “It moves me to tears.”
The “1 Town 1 Heart Fundraiser” will be held 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Old Butte Soccer Complex on the corner of Old Butte Rd. and Clarence Dr. in Bonneville County.
