NEWSMAKERS: Lt. Gov. Brad Little and his run for governor
Published atIn this edition of East Idaho Newsmakers, Nate Eaton speaks with Idaho Lieutenant Governor Brad Little, who is running for governor on the Republican ticket.
Little has been a lifelong rancher. His political career began in 2001 when he was appointed by then-Gov. Dirk Kempthorne to a State Senate seat from western Idaho that was vacated. He was elected and re-elected to that Senate seat four times and became part of the Senate’s leadership team as Republican Caucus chairman.
Little became Lieutenant Governor in January 2009 when Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter appointed him to a vacancy created by Jim Risch’s move to the U.S Senate. Little was elected in 2010 and re-elected in 2014.
During their conversation, Eaton asked Little why he is running for governor, what he’s learned serving at Lt. Governor, how he plans to fix health care, his view on the future of Idaho and more.
Little joins Congressman Raul Labrador and Boise businessman Tommy Ahlquist in the race to succeed Otter. Ahlquist appeared on East Idaho Newsmakers last month and Labrador will be featured on an upcoming episode.
