FBI seeking to bring 350 new jobs to east Idaho with new data center
Published at | Updated atPOCATELLO — More jobs are coming to the Gate City.
Construction has started on a new FBI data center that will be built adjacent to the FBI Field Office at 3975 Pole Line Road.
The new building, which broke ground in August, will house office space, digital storage and national information technology systems for the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice, FBI Section Chief Michael Malinowski said during a press roundtable discussion Wednesday.
The data center will bring about 350 new jobs to Pocatello, adding to the approximately 200 people who already work at the field office.
Most of the jobs will be in the IT sector, but the final decisions about what departments will be in the building have not been made.
The facility is expected to be completed in early 2019.
