Blowing dust advisory issued along I-15 for Friday afternoon

IDAHO FALLS — The National Weather Service has issued a blowing dust advisory starting at noon Friday until 9 p.m.
NWS officials expect southwest winds upward of 20 mph to develop at midday, which will lift loose soil from agricultural fields near Interstate 15.
The blowing dust can reduce visibility to near zero. This near-zero visibility can occur suddenly and without warning.
The worst areas impacted will be I-15 north of Idaho Falls, where zero-visibility conditions are possible. However, at least some blowing dust is expected in each of the following counties: Madison, Bonneville, Jefferson, Bingham and Butte.
Travelers are urged to drive with caution.
Autumn Snow Storm
The National Weather Service also is predicting an autumn winter storm in the Central Idaho Mountains. Between 1 to 6 inches of snow is possible between Friday and Saturday.
The Snake River Plain — including Burley, Rupert, Heyburn, Idaho Falls, Rexburg, and Pocatello — may see some brief snow Friday. Less than an inch of snow is predicted.
