TETON — Idaho Highway 33 is opened again after first responders extinguished a truck fire Tuesday morning.

Lt. Mike Courtney with the Madison County Sheriff’s office told EastIdahoNews.com a call came in around 10:15 a.m. reporting a vehicle fire along the highway.

Courtney said a white Ford diesel pickup truck started smoking near mile marker 102. The driver pulled off of the highway and the smoke ignited into flames. Only the driver was in the pickup. The vehicle was a complete loss.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office and Madison Fire Department responded to the scene. It took about 40 minutes to put the vehicle fire out. During that time ID 33 near Teton was blocked off. Fremont County emergency responders also assisted with the fire.

No injuries were reported.
