In this edition of East Idaho Newsmakers, Nate Eaton speaks with Julie Zahn. Zahn is the executive director of the Shepherd’s Inn in Idaho Falls.

Shepherd’s Inn has been helping young women facing an unplanned pregnancy for the past 20 years. The non-profit organization originally built in Roberts after a young woman left her newborn in a dumpster. Zahn and her partners knew they needed to do something to help other women.

The Shepherd’s Inn has helped hundreds of women and their families over the years. Workers focus on pregnancy counseling, which includes help with budgeting, infant care and assistance in creating a parenting plan.
