In this edition of East Idaho Newsmakers, Nate Eaton talks with Turtle Leach and his parents, Robin and Nathan.

Turtle is a 15-year-old from Rigby who was recently selected to perform in a Broadway-style production of “Hemophilia: The Musical” in New York City next month.

Turtle, who is affected by a bleeding disorder, was chosen from applicants across the country to participate in the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The musical is a first-of-its-kind theatrical production to help empower teens affected by bleeding disorders to find and use their voices through the power of music. Turtle will be joined by 24 other teens from throughout the country.

Watch the video above to learn more about the project, hemophilia and how you can watch the production.

“Hemophilia: the Musical” will be performed Nov. 12 in New York City and streamed live on the BioMarin Facebook page at 11:30 a.m.
