UPDATE: Power fully restored for 3,000 Idaho Falls Power customers

UPDATE 11:30 PM:

IDAHO FALLS – Power is being restored for approximately 3,000 Idaho Falls Power customers.

City spokesman Bud Cranor tells EastIdahoNews.com the outage occurred about 10:15 p.m. on the south side of town near Sunnyside Road.

An exact cause has not yet been determined, but IFP’s Facebook page indicates the York and Harrison substations serving areas southeast of Idaho Falls went offline. Strong winds, dust and rain were contributing factors in the outage.

Power was fully restored around 11:40 p.m.

IDAHO FALLS – There have been numerous reports of a power outage in Idaho Falls.

Multiple people living near 17th Street tell EastIdahoNews.com it is dark in their neighborhood.

It’s not clear how many households are affected, but a Facebook post from Idaho Falls Power indicates they are aware of the situation and are working to determine the problem.

“We are currently assessing the situation and working to get crews dispatched to resolve the issue. We thank you for your patience as we work to get power restored. We currently do not have an ETA on power restoration. We will update when we do,” the post reads.
