Pocatello Rec. Center to offer lifeguard, first aid, CPR/AED training

POCATELLO — The Pocatello Community Recreation Center will offer lifeguard training courses to anyone 15 or older beginning Jan. 23.
Courses, which are scheduled for consecutive Saturdays, will be broken into three separate groupings — on Jan. 23 and 30, Feb. 13 and 20, and March 6 and 13.
The training will cost $100 and include American Red Cross lifeguard training, first aid and CPR/AED instruction and certification.
Prior to registration, interested participants must first complete a pre-course session, which will include swim tests, stroke improvement training and conditioning. These pre-course sessions are free to the public and are being held at the CRC every Wednesday at 7 p.m. through March 2.
Prospective participants can register for a pre-course session at register.pocatello.us or in person at the CRC, located at 144 Wilson Ave in Pocatello.
