POCATELLO — A local man was arrested Monday afternoon for aggravated driving under the influence, following a single-car crash in Pocatello.

Police reports show Joshua Noah Hansen, 37, was driving near the Gould Street overpass on Main Street at around 4:30 p.m. when he crashed into the barricade. He was allegedly operating his vehicle while under the influence, Pocatello Police spokesman Lt. John Walker said.

Both Hansen and a passenger in his vehicle were injured in the wreck and were transported to Portneuf Medical Center by ambulance.

While being treated, Hansen allegedly made threats to at least one member of the hospital staff.

After he was medically cleared by PMC, Hansen was arrested for misdemeanor assault on a medical provider. Additionally, since his passenger was seriously injured in the crash, Hansen was also arrested for felony aggravated DUI.

If he is convicted, Hansen would face up to 15 years in prison and fines as much as $5,000 for the DUI.

A court date has not yet been set.
