Here’s how you can meet the two D91 superintendent candidates Monday

IDAHO FALLS — Parents and students can meet the two Idaho Falls School District 91 superintendent candidates on Monday.
The school board narrowed down its candidate pool to Dr. Eric Pingrey and Dr. James Shank after current Superintendent George Boland announced his retirement at the end of this school year.
An informal meet and greet will happen in person from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Monday at Taylorview Middle School. District 91 said in a news release both Pingrey and Shank will be in the gymnasium and cafeteria to meet parents, students, staff and participate in informal discussions.
Following the meet and greet, the district will have the formal Q&A session from 6:15 to 7 p.m. at the school. The Idaho School Boards Association will moderate the event with candidates responding to questions from the community.

Dr. Eric Pingrey
Dr. Pingrey is currently the Superintendent at Walker Hackensak Akeley Independent School District in Walker, Minnesota. Prior to that, he was a principal for the Converse County School District in Douglas, Wyoming, and a principal for the Custer School District in Custer, South Dakota. He was also a Court Services Officer for the Unified Judicial System, an ExCEL Program Administrator for the Department of Corrections, and a Youth Counselor/Teacher for the Department of Corrections. He has a bachelor’s degree in History and Social Science, a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, a master’s degree in Education Administration and a Secondary Principal Administrative Certificate, and a doctoral degree in Education Administration Superintendent.
Dr. James Shank
Dr. Shank is currently the Superintendent at Cassia County Schools in Burley, Idaho. Prior to that he was Superintendent at Coupeville School District in Coupeville, Washington, and Superintendent at Juab School District in Nephi, Utah. He was also the Director of Special Education for the Coupeville School District in Coupeville, Washington, and a principal in the Idaho Falls and Aberdeen School Districts. He has a bachelor’s degree in Special Education, a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership.
