UPDATE: Fire leaves an Idaho Falls home a complete loss

A fast-moving fire Wednesday evening left an Idaho Falls home a complete loss.
The Idaho Falls Fire Department rushed to the home on the 1000 block of Johnson street around 7:40 p.m. after a neighbor mowing their lawn saw flames and called 911, according to a department news release. As firefighters were on the way, flames reportedly engulfed the entire home.
The home’s garage reportedly held flammable material and the flames were threatening a car and a neighboring house.
A large contingent of firefighters and police officers flooded the neighborhood. The Idaho Falls Fire Department says three engines, three ambulances, the ladder truck and a battalion chief struggled to make it down the narrow street because of the number of vehicles parked on the side of the road.
Fire crews found a single-family one-story home ablaze. Firefighters searched the home, discovering no one was inside.
A woman did receive minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, according to Idaho Falls Fire Department spokeswoman Kerry Hammon. No other civilians, firefighters or police officers were hurt in the fire.
Powerlines were on the ground near the home and Idaho Falls Power temporarily turned off utilities to nearby homes.
In addition to destroying the home, the fire damaged a car, some trees and power lines. An adjacent home also sustained damage to its exterior and smoke damage throughout the inside. Officials do not have a total estimate of the damage at this time.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the IFFD’s Fire Prevention and Investigation Division.
Firefighters are reminding people to move their cars when there is a fire in their neighborhood to make room for first responders.

IDAHO FALLS — A home is seriously damaged after a fast-moving fire started Wednesday night.
Idaho Falls firefighters were called to the home on the 1100 block of Johnson Street around 7:40 p.m.
Crews were able to contain the fire and get it extinguished by 8 p.m.
Initial reports indicated no one was injured, but one woman ended up being taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The home has extensive damage. A nearby home also has smoke damage.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze. Additional information is expected to be released later.
