UPDATE: Man dead, another hospitalized after crash on Highway 20

UPDATE:
An Oregon man is dead after a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 20-26 east of Arco Wednesday morning.
The crash happened around 6:25 a.m. along the highway near milepost 250, about two miles east of Arco. According to an Idaho State Police news release, 69-year-old Theodore Taegder of Portland, Oregon, died at the scene of the crash.
Troopers reported Taegder was driving westbound in his 1997 Toyota Camry. Levi McAlevy, 25, of Moore, was driving eastbound in his 2009 Mazda 6.
“Taegder drove across the center divider and struck McAlevy’s vehicle head-on,” ISP said in the news release.
An air ambulance took McAlevy to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
McAlevy’s fiancé tells EastIdahoNews.com he has several broken bones and a lacerated spleen that is not actively bleeding. She describes him as in stable condition and doing okay, they are just waiting for him to come out of surgery.
The crash blocked U.S. Highway 20-26 for about three hours.
The Butte County Sheriff’s Office, Butte County Fire Department, and the Idaho Transportation Department helped ISP at the crash.

ARCO — Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal crash on U.S. Highway 20 near Arco.
Troopers say the crash involved two vehicles and at least one person has died. The crash happened about two miles east of Arco, according to an ISP tweet.
It is not exactly clear what caused the crash or if anyone else is injured. It is expected ISP will release more details.
The Idaho Transportation Department says to expect delays in the area.
