School custodians who lost everything in a fire get emotional Secret Santa surprise at the movie theater

The EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season. Every day, from now until Christmas, we will post videos of the recipients being surprised with these life-changing gifts.
Sylvia and Sergio Cornejo have lived in Aberdeen for 25 years. They dedicated their time to working as school custodians.
On Nov. 10, they lost their home and all of their belongings to a fire. They only had the clothing on their backs when they narrowly escaped the fire.
The Cornejos have given so much to the community – especially the school community. Sergio was the head janitor in the high school, where he showed up every morning at 5 a.m. to ready the school for teachers and students. Sergio could also be seen at every sporting event long after everyone had left cleaning up the facilities.
Sylvia was the middle school janitor working the same hours alongside her husband until she became ill and had to retire. Last year Sergio retired to be at home caring for her. They have always gone above and beyond to help out.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to track down the Cornejos in Aberdeen and give them an early Christmas gift. On our way to visit them, we learned they were at the movies with their family – so we stopped in and surprise them at the Blackfoot Movie Mill. Watch the video above!
