Young mom who lost her leg while battling cancer gets a big Secret Santa surprise
Published atThe EastIdahoNews.com team is busy helping a local Secret Santa give $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season. Every day, from now until Christmas, we will post videos of the recipients being surprised with these life-changing gifts.
Natalie is a sweet young mother of two darling little girls – a 3-year-old and an 8-month-old.
While pregnant with her youngest, her knee was hurting but she thought it was due to the pregnancy. After she had her baby, the pain was still there and she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma a few months ago.
Natalie has gone through some intense rounds of chemo and last month, she underwent major surgery to remove the cancerous part of her leg and reattach her foot to serve as her knee joint. She spent time in the ICU and recently returned home.
After Natalie heals she will receive a prosthetic leg. She still has a long road ahead of her and will continue to receive chemo for several months. She has tried to stay positive about her situation and has only asked for prayers.
Natalie and her little family are currently borrowing a car from a family member because theirs broke down in Arizona. They don’t have the funds to get another vehicle and the medical bills are piling up.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to surprise Natalie and her family with an early Christmas gift. Check out our visit in the video player above!
