Man killed in crash near New Meadows

Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred Monday at 10:39 a.m. on US95 at milepost 173, North of New Meadows.
A 2004 Chevy Silverado, driven by a 63-year-old male from Riggins, was traveling southbound. A 2023 Kenworth semi-truck and trailer, driven by a 33-year-old male from Schaumburg, Illinois, was traveling northbound. The Silverado crossed left of center and struck the trailer, then overturned and came to rest on its top.
The driver of the Silverado succumbed to his injuries on scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the Kenworth was not transported and was wearing a seatbelt.
Southbound US95 was blocked for approximately four and a half hours to allow emergency personnel to assist those involved and to clear the scene.
