IDAHO FALLS — Six people have been arrested after law enforcement, with the help of a K9, discovered 10 pounds of methamphetamine.

On Friday, the Idaho Falls Police Department was alerted by the Teton County Sheriff’s Office that a large amount of drugs was being brought into Idaho Falls in a white Toyota Camry by a man named Jesus Zazuete Beltran, a news release said.

Idaho Falls police officers and Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies found the Camry that same day and watched it arrive at Sage Avenue in Idaho Falls.

A blue BMW pulled next to the Camry for a bit and then left. Officers noticed an “obstructed” license plate on the BMW and initiated a traffic stop, the release said.

Officers requested a police K9 to respond. K9 Mako from the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office conducted an air sniff on the vehicle and the dog indicated there were illegal substances, police said. Officers searched the BMW and found one pound of methamphetamine.

Law enforcement returned to Sage Avenue with a search warrant for a house and discovered nine more pounds of meth.

The following people were arrested by the Idaho Falls Police Department:

  • Jorge Venegas, 23, from Idaho Falls, for trafficking methamphetamine
  • Jaime Bonilla Morales, 23, from Dubois, for trafficking methamphetamine
  • Jesus Zazuete Beltran, 24, from Victor, for trafficking methamphetamine, providing false information to a police officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Ana Costillo-Delgado, 37, from Idaho Falls, for trafficking methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia
  • Brian Garcia-Rodriguez, 22, from Blackfoot, for possession of paraphernalia and for frequenting a place where controlled substances are used
  • Juan Aguilar Duque, 30, from Idaho Falls, for possession of paraphernalia

“The Idaho Falls Police Department thanks their partners in law enforcement, the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office and the Teton County Sheriff’s Office, for their assistance in this investigation,” the release said.
