Teton County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call at 4600 Skyline Loop in Victor Thursday around 11:40 p.m. When they arrived, they discovered Kali Best was deceased.
Deputies initiated a search for Jeremy Best and 10-month-old Zeke Gregory Best, who was missing from the scene. Jeremy Best was located and taken into custody by Bonneville County Sheriff’s deputies Saturday around 9:15 a.m. on Kepps Crossing Road near Dan Creek Road, east of Idaho Falls. Zeke Best was found dead at the scene.
Initial court documents do not detail charges relating to Zeke Best’s death. An autopsy is being currently performed in Ada County. If the toddler was killed in Bonneville County, Best could face charges in that jurisdiction.
Best is scheduled for an initial appearance Monday before Magistrate Judge Jason Walker at 11 a.m. at the Teton County Courthouse. EastIdahoNews.com will livestream the court hearing.
If found guilty, Best could face 10 years to life in prison or the death penalty. Prosecutors have 60 days from Best’s initial plea to file a notice of intent to seek the death penalty.
