UPDATE

AMERICAN FALLS — Authorities are searching for an armed suicidal man in the American Falls area.

Law enforcement is seeking 41-year-old Ronald Lewis Lee Jr. He is 5’11”, 185 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes, according to an American Falls Police Department news release. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and a black police style ballistic vest. He was armed with a hand gun.

The search for the man started shortly after noon Tuesday. Police were called to the 200 block of Monroe Street for a family disturbance. Prior to the arrival of police, Lee had left the area in a red 2009 Mercedes Benz, according to the news release.

At around 1:45 p.m. the Power County Sheriff’s Office located Lee’s vehicle abandoned in a farm field at 2030 Frontage Road in American Falls.

Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in the search for Lee. Drones and police K9’s were used to search heavy bush. However, Lee was not located.

Authorities do not believe there is a credible threat to the public. However, if you spot Lee — do not approach him — call 911.

Anyone with information about Lee’s whereabouts should call police at (208) 226-2311.
