EastIdahoNews.com is partnering with Ashley and Ashley Outlet of Idaho Falls to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.

We recently received an email about a PetSmart dog groomer who came to the rescue when a woman was experiencing a medical emergency. Here’s what the message said:

I and another volunteer were at the Idaho Falls PetSmart holding an adoption event for the Bingham County Humane Society with some available kitties. I tried to swallow a Tylenol tablet but it ended up stuck in my trachea to the point I could not breathe. I couldn’t speak and the other volunteer didn’t not know how to do the Heimlich Maneuver. It felt a bit like a 3 Stooges comedy with me doing charades to show her how to help me. Luckily, she was smarter than I was and yelled for help. Miranda, a PetSmart groomer, had just left the grooming area to head out with a friend. She heard my friend and came running! After the second try of the Heimlich, I finally got the Tylenol pill out and could breath! Sherri, the manager, also came running when she saw Miranda take off to the back because she could tell something was wrong. I never thought in a million years I would need the Heimlich in a PetSmart but I was lucky Miranda knew how to do it and didn’t hesitate even a second. It’s a great reminder to learn such a life saving skill.

We decided to surprise Miranda and thank her for her actions! Check out the video in the player above.
