Jimn R. Davis, 73, of St. Anthony, passed away September 14, 2024, at his home surrounded by his children. He was under the care of Enhabit Home Health and Hospice.

Jimn (that funny “n” at the end is not a typo, we think it was probably his parents’ sense of humor!) was born on July 13, 1951, in Ashton, Idaho. He was the third of seven children born to William Ross and Margetta Bales Davis. Jimn grew up taking care of animals, being raised on the family sheep ranch, Davis Sheep Co., in Wilford and Monteview. He attended schools in Teton and St. Anthony, graduating from South Fremont High School in 1969.

A few years after finishing high school, he met and married Carol Anne Skuse in February 1972. Together, they made their home in Wilford where they welcomed their five children: Jared, Brett, Jennifer, Kelly, and Erin. They later divorced and he did not remarry. Jimn was a lifelong resident of southeast Idaho, and following the roots planted in his childhood, he enjoyed riding his horses through the mountains. Whether he was hunting, chasing cows, or just riding to enjoy the beauty of nature, seeing the world from between those ears was his favorite place to be.

Jimn worked as a farrier for several years, shoeing horses all over the region until a back injury would no longer allow him to do this. He would go on to work for the US Forest Service and later as a cowboy for local ranchers. He eventually retired from the JR Simplot Company where he spent the last several years of his working life visiting with farmers as he delivered fertilizer.

Jimn is survived by his two sons, Jared and Brett of St. Anthony; his three daughters, Jennifer (Chad) Maupin, Erin (Travis) Benson of St. Anthony, and Kelly of Idaho Falls; his many grandchildren, Tyler, Kyllie, & Ryker Davis, Mason & Annee Davis, Delynn & Alyssa Maupin, Madeline, Phoebe, and Jack Moseley, Draekli Kaaiakamanu,Tyrel, Jordyn, & Easton Benson; one great granddaughter; sister, Susan Davis; and brother, David (Susan) Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Scott, Sam, and Tim Davis; and sister, Luanna Bonsor.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Wilford LDS Chapel, 215 N. 2400 E., St. Anthony, Idaho. The family will receive visitors from 1:45-2:45 p.m. prior to the service.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
