Betty was born June 29, 1934, to Grace and Anselm Schauwecker, the oldest sister to Chuck, David, and Gracie.

Betty spent her childhood in St. Louis until after her high school graduation when the family moved to southern California. From there, she met and married Guy Milligan in 1954. From that union came two sons, Mark and Doug. They divorced in 1961.

Friends encouraged Betty to get out and start dating again, and after a year, she met soulmate, Arthur Russell Tetley. They married February 16th, 1963, in Las Vegas, Nevada. In December that year, Steve was born, and they became a family of five.

In 1969, the family would make the move to Idaho Falls, Idaho where Russ went to work for the INL. They would spend the next 40 years together in Idaho Falls, where Betty enjoyed bowling, painting, and fishing with Russ and the boys; and later, she enjoyed when the grandkids were able to join in on the adventures. She also found a way to fuel her “passion for fashion” going to work for Lamonts for seven years, where she made a great number of her friends.

Later in life, Betty enjoyed more time with friends and family. She enjoyed Bible Study classes strengthening her relationship with God and making many new friends. After 35 years of marriage, Betty and Russ renewed their vows and were married in the Catholic Church.

Betty loved her family and friends with a true and sincere passion.

She is survived by her three sons, Mark (Gaylen) Milligan of Granite Bay, California, Doug (Kerry) MIlligan of Star, Idaho and Steve (Missie) Tetley of Idaho Falls; seven grandchildren, Natalie, Tyler, Kristen, Stettson, Jonathon, Michael and Michelle; six great grandchildren; and brother Chuck (Jean) Schauwecker of Torrance, California.

She was preceded in death by her husband Russ Tetley, parents Anselm and Grace Schauwecker, brother David Schawecker, sister Gracie Schauwecker, and grandson Jake Milligan.

“Sweet Betty” will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at Morning Star for their kindness and friendship they provided to Mom over the past few years helping to take care of her and often stopping in while they were working or just checking in on her to say hi. Also, thank you to the Enhabit Home Health team who provided help and support to get her back on her feet after her fall.

A vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Wood Funeral home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, in Idaho Falls with a Rosary prayer. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 1, 2024, at Christ the King, 1690 E. 17th Street, Idaho Falls. Friends and family will meet after mass for shared memories and a luncheon.

Condolences can be sent to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
