Margo Elaine Starnes, known affectionately as Micki, passed away at the age of 81 on September 24, 2024, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Margo was born on August 10, 1943, to David (Bud) and Margaret McComas in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Margo dedicated her life to her family, embodying the role of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend with unwavering devotion. Margo’s life was marked by the joy she found in simple pleasures. She cherished family gatherings, whether they were dinners at home or camping trips that brought everyone closer to nature.

Her hobbies included crocheting, ceramics, and assembling puzzles, activities that not only filled her home with warmth but also brought a sense of peace and accomplishment. She always enjoyed watching good Sci-fi movies and reading good books. In her younger years, Margo was an enthusiastic bowler, actively participating in a local league. Her precious dog Abi brought her so much joy and companionship in her final years.

Margo’s legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her children, Virginia (Jenny) Shults and husband Steve; Mike Starnes and wife Jennifer; Buddy Starnes and wife Anngela; Gary Starnes and wife Rhonda; and John Marshall. She was a proud grandmother to 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Also, Karen McComas sister-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margo was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ray Starnes; her parents, David (Bud) and Margaret McComas; her brother, David McComas; her sister, Kathy Johnson; and son, Paul Wray.

A gathering to honor and celebrate Margo’s life will be held at the home she shared with Ray at 778 Vassar Way, Idaho Falls, Idaho, on October 20, 2024, beginning at 1:00 in the afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margo’s memory can be made to the Idaho Falls Food Bank, supporting a cause close to her heart.

Margo’s kindness and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her, yet her legacy will continue to inspire generosity and love within the community.
