Raymond (Ray) Lloyd Andrus

Ray was born to James Lloyd Andrus and Reta Maxine Garrett Andrus on August 29, 1953 in Seattle, Washington. He died September 23, 2024 in Missoula, MT. Ray was the oldest of 5 children with sisters Joyce (Jim) Owens, Deborah (Ron) Miller, Janet (Randall) Schulz (deceased), and his brother Milo (Robin) Andrus.

The family later relocated to Blackfoot, ID. Where Ray attended school and graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1971.  Right after graduation he joined the Navy.  Serving for 4 years during the Vietnam War he would learn trade skills that lasted a lifetime. He would use these skills in life being a Plumber / Pipefitter, and Welder.

Ray had a son Kip (Shanda) Andrus from a relationship before marriage and two daughters, Miranda (Jeremy) Rae and Virginia (Travis) Corral, with former wife Margene.

He relocated to Alaska in 2003 to explore his love of fishing and the wilderness and to be closer to loved ones. He spent his final years traveling the country and enjoying the outdoors.

Ray is survived by his three children and grandchildren Collan, Kaydon, Kip Charles (K.C.), Kale, Addysen, Evangeline, Camden, and Grayson.

Per Ray’s wishes, no formal funeral arrangements will be made. The family asks you to grab a pole and go fishing to celebrate his memory.
