It’s with great sadness that the family of Lynn J. Arave shares the news of his passing on November 11, 2024, at the age of 81. Born June 10, 1943 to Marvin and Monta Arave, Lynn grew up working on the family farm in Taylor Idaho, before graduating from Shelley High School in 1961. Two years later, he married his loving wife of 61 years, Gayla Bullock.

Lynn dedicated over 30 years of his life working as a utility operator at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) before his retirement, much of which he dedicated to enjoying his family, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Lynn was known for his humor, reliability, and meticulous attention to detail. His practical skills made him the family’s go-to fixer, adept with any tool in hand. Beyond his workbench, he found solace and joy in the great outdoors. An avid hunter, Lynn was especially passionate about muzzle loader hunting, and he cherished the times spent fishing, horseback riding, and crafting leatherwork for family and friends.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Gayla; sons, Gary (David Villanueva) and Gregg (Jackie); sisters, Karen Wojnarowicz, Debra Arave, and Renee Wilson (David); and brother, Kim. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Monta Arave; son, Gavin Arave; and brothers, Kyle and Chuck Arave.

A celebration of Lynn’s life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and legacy. Lynn’s life was marked by his steadfast love for his family, his unwavering work ethic, and his profound connection to the natural world. Arrangements are under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. Condolences may be sent online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
