Single mom using lawn chairs for furniture gets a deserving surprise from a Secret Santa
Published atA local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season and the East Idaho News elves are helping out.
Every day, from now until the end of the year, we’ll be posting a Secret Santa surprise, and today, we are in Shelley surprising a single mom of three named Kaylynn.
She has had a tough road but always tries to stay positive, work hard and make a living to support her children. She had a great job she really loved but began having extreme health problems.
After much time in and out of the hospital, Kaylynn was diagnosed with a genetic heart condition. Her condition has taken a huge toll on her health recently and she is physically unable to walk very far or even go up and down stairs. She had surgery to install a pacemaker and has been through endless appointments and medications.
The only way to improve her heart condition without open heart surgery and shave down the muscle is to take a medication that is extremely expensive. Because of her condition and insurance not covering the medicine, she had no choice but to quit her job so that she could get the medication she needed to save her life.
Despite all of her trials, Kaylynn has always been the one to keep everyone laughing. Her sense of humor and happy attitude in the face of adversity is a huge example to everyone she knows. She loves her children and is trying to help them make their way in the world.
She currently has no furniture in her living room other than her chair lift which helps her get up and down.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves to surprise Kaylynn with an early Christmas gift. Check out the video in the player above!
