Don’t feel like decorating your own Christmas tree? The Soda Springs Library Festival of Trees will have plenty of options.
Published atSODA SPRINGS — The annual Soda Springs Public Library Festival of Trees fundraiser is back, with festively decorated trees to admire — and even take home.
Every year, local sponsors donate fully decorated trees or wreaths. Entries are displayed at the library for patrons to view during the week of Dec. 2. All items will be sold in a silent auction on the evening of Dec. 6.
So far, more than 40 decorated trees and wreaths will be part of the event.
“We couldn’t be happier about the support we’ve been receiving from the community,” Library Director Hope Hansen said in a news release. “We are so grateful for the outpouring of support.”
This year, the Festival of Trees has new title sponsors, A+ Contractors and Cozy B Quilts.
“Their donation has laid the foundation for a wonderful event and has been instrumental in taking the festival to new heights,” Hansen said.
For the first time, the silent auction will take place online, allowing buyers to place bids online if they cannot attend the festival in person. Librarians will be available the night of the auction to help patrons with online bids if needed.
Funds from the auction will go towards electrical work in the building.
“We have a system of power strips and extension cords to make it work, but it is definitely something that needs to be upgraded for both safety and convenience,” Hansen said.
Hansen says patrons who need a charging station are often limited on where they can find an available power source at the library.
“An upgraded system will provide many solutions for both the patrons and library staff,” Hansen said. “We are very optimistic that the improvements will become a reality in 2025.”
All community members are invited to attend, even if they’re not in the market for a new tree or wreath. There will be a raffle, refreshments and a visit from Santa.
The Festival of Lights event will be Dec. 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Soda Springs Public Library at 149 South Main Street. Buyers can pick up their trees or wreaths from Dec. 9 to Dec. 13.
