Nettie Thompson (Annette Gomm)
December 28, 1960 – November 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nettie Thompson, born Annette Gomm, who died in her home in Boise, Idaho, on November 8, 2024.
Nettie was born on December 28, 1960, in Jerome, Idaho, to Dorene and Ben Gomm. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Thompson. Nettie is survived by her son, Derek Bohman, and her beloved grandchildren, Aurora and Nova Bohman, who fondly remember her loving and fun nature. She is also survived by her siblings, Becky Pinkham, Ben Gomm, and Sandee Palm, as well as many stepchildren, and extended family whom she adored.
Nettie was a woman of many talents and accomplishments. A skilled cook, florist, pianist, and interior decorator, Nettie had a remarkable ability to make everything around her beautiful.
Nettie served as a secretary for the superintendent in Shelley. Her exceptional typing speed—over 100 words per minute with no errors—made her indispensable as an employee of the telephone deaf-relay system. She was a skilled nail technician and owned and ran a nail salon in Idaho Falls. Later became a project manager for iBHAN in Salt Lake City. Toward the end of her career, she worked with several professional chefs in Boise, combining her love of food and artistry.
Nettie was a lover of history, literature, art, and music. Her grandchildren fondly recall making pizza and root beer floats with her, and her kindness extended even to the local squirrels she fed in the park. She was friendly, open-minded, and nonjudgmental to everyone she met.
A celebration of Nettie’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the LDS Church in Woodville, Idaho, located at 1555 North 700 East, Shelley, ID 83274. All who knew and loved her are welcome to join in honoring her life and legacy.
