After searching everywhere, we surprise teacher with Secret Santa gift – and every student gives her a hug
Published atA local Secret Santa is giving $1 million to deserving people in eastern Idaho this holiday season and the East Idaho News elves are helping out.
Every day, from now until the end of the year, we’ll be posting a Secret Santa surprise, and we drove all over Dubois trying to find today’s recipient.
Lauri Sperl is an exceptional educator in the Clark County School District. As the history and social science teacher for grades 6-12, Lauri has a deep passion for shaping young minds and fostering a love of learning.
Despite facing significant challenges due to lymphedema in both legs, which severely limits her mobility, Lauri continues to teach with dedication, providing support and guidance to her students.
A mobility scooter and custom shoes would be life-changing for Lauri. These tools would allow her to move more easily around the school, engage in extracurricular activities, and safely move during the winter months. This added mobility would empower Lauri to participate in school functions, better connect with students, and improve her quality of life.
Lauri has always given her best to her students, never letting her physical limitations stop her from making a difference.
Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News elves if we could pay Lauri a visit and give her an early Christmas gift. Watch in the video player above!
