Two Idaho men die in Lexus and Mercedes Benz collision

WHITE BIRD — Two Idaho men died after a 2017 Lexus crossed into opposing traffic on U.S. Highway 95, striking a 2015 Mercedes Benz in White Bird.
Idaho State Police is investigating the two-vehicle fatality crash that occurred near mile post 222 at approximately 9:18 p.m. on Friday.
The Lexus driver was travelling northbound on US-95 when he crossed over into the southbound lane.
A 66-year-old female from Riggins was travelling southbound on US-95 in the Mercedes Benz with two passengers, the 63-year-old male and a juvenile female, when they were struck by the Lexus.
All parties were wearing seatbelts.
The occupants of the Mercedes Benz were transported with critical injuries by ground and air ambulance to a local hospital.
Next of kin for both deceased men have been notified.
Traffic on US-95 was partially blocked for nearly three hours.
The Idaho State Police were assisted by Idaho County, Syringa Ambulance, Salmon River Rural Fire, Grangeville Police and Idaho Transportation Department at the scene.
This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
