Obituary
Crystal Ann Hoggan Carpenter
January 24th, 1959 - November 27th, 2024
Crystal Ann Hoggan Carpenter ended her earthly journey on November 27, 2024. She was born on January 24, 1959, to Carl and Elaine Hoggan and big sister to Jay, David and Nancy. Her childhood was spent in Hamer and at the family ranch in Medicine Lodge. Crystal attended grade school in Hamer and graduated from West Jefferson High School in 1977.
She married Nate Carpenter on June 16,1977 and they welcomed their first daughter, Cody Ann in December, but lost her to SIDS just two months later. They lived in Mud Lake for two years until they bought property in Arco and made the move, living in a single wide trailer while they built their log home from the ground up. Roots were put down and Dana, Kevin, Luke and Abby Jo were all born in Arco. Tragedy once again struck when Abby also passed away from SIDS. Despite the sadness they created a happy family.
Crystal wore many hats throughout her life, but Mom and Grandma were on the top of the list of jobs she was proud of. She was active in the Lost River Valley as cub scout leader, 4-H leader and was instrumental in keeping the Atomic Days Rodeo alive for nearly 40 years. Crystal had many hobbies including cross stitching, quilting, embroidery, gardening, shopping, and spending time with friends. Crystal had a special way of making people feel welcome and understood. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.
Crystal is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Elaine Hoggan and baby girls, Cody & Abby. Survivors include her husband, Nate of Idaho Falls. Dana (Mike) Howard, Star, ID, Kevin (Mckell) Carpenter, Hamer, ID, Luke (Breanna) Carpenter, Iona, ID, Jay (Shelley) Hoggan, Hamer, ID, David (Sondra) Hoggan, Hamer ID, Nancy (Wade) Durham, Hamer ID. 9 grandkids and 1 great-granddaughter.

The family would like to acknowledge and extend our gratitude to the army of friends, too numerous to name individually, that supported her these past 2 years. Thank You.
