Robert Charles “Robby” Brusman, age 68, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
Robby was born on June 15, 1956, in Niagara Falls, New York, to Robert Charles Donihue and Jessie May Muir. He was lovingly raised by his mother, Jessie, and his dad, Lorenzo Dow “Buck” Brusman. Though he lived in various parts of the country during his childhood, Robby always considered Prescott, Arizona, his home.
On June 11, 1978, Robby married his best friend and eternal companion, Carol Lynn Raymond, in Arizona, where they were sealed in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Arizona Mesa Temple. They were inseparable and their loving partnership spanned 46 years, filled with shared faith, family, and adventures.
Robby dedicated his life to serving others. As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served an honorable mission in the Pennsylvania Harrisburg Mission from 1975 to 1977. He spent a lifetime serving, ministering and administering to the members of his church. With a deep love for the scriptures, he especially enjoyed teaching and loved it when opportunity presented itself to teach the youth wherever he lived, including Arizona, Arkansas and Missouri, Pennsylvania and Idaho, leaving a lasting impact on all who learned from him.
Robby pursued a variety of professions, starting as a professional firefighter and EMT in Prescott, Arizona. After relocating to Mountain Home, Arkansas, he owned and operated a small chain of convenience stores. His journey then took him to Mill Hall, Pennsylvania, where he became involved in the operations of RAYCORE Structural Insulated Panels – SIPs. Sometime after moving the corporation to Idaho, he served as President and CEO where he loved his work and those he worked with, and lead with vision and dedication until his passing. His colleagues admired his innovative spirit, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
Beyond his professional achievements, Robby’s passions enriched his life and the lives of those around him. He loved reading and studying history, often sharing his remarkable knowledge with family and friends. Known for his endless repertoire of “four stories,” Robby could captivate any audience with his humor, expansive knowledge and wisdom. Having a passion for the outdoors and nature, he delighted in hiking, camping, snowshoeing, biking, and exploring the neighboring national parks. His amateur photography, especially of wildlife, beautifully reflected his love for nature.
Robby is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Lynn Raymond Brusman; his sister, Trudy Ann Nord; his children whom he was so proud of, Christina M. “Christy” (Ryan) Goodman, Eric D. (Natalie) Brusman, and Bryan D.
