DAYTON — It was wild and unpredictable season for 3A teams across the state this season, especially in east Idaho, where at least five or six teams legitimately had a chance to challenge for that coveted state title.

But in the end, it was perennial power West Side that was left standing with its fifth title in six years.

And to the victor go the spoils. In this case, All-State honors, as standout Crew Sage was named state Player of the Year and Tyson Moser was selected Coach of the Year.

Sage ran for 988 yards and 17 TDs and totaled 215 receiving yards and two touchdowns. On the other side of the ball as a defensive back, he tallied 55 tackles, four interceptions, four pass breakups, one sack and one forced fumble.

Note: The All-Idaho teams are chosen by a vote of the state’s coaches. The Idaho Statesman publishes the results.
