Virginia Randall
September 29th, 1942 - December 14th, 2024
Virginia Louise Collard Randall passed away peacefully December 14, 2024, at her home in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 82, with her family by her side. She was under the care of her loving family and Stillwater Hospice.
Virginia was raised in Idaho Falls with her sisters, Marcia & Teri, and her brother Curt.
As a child, Virginia was an avid reader. This carried on throughout her life. She loved studying and gaining education & knowledge. Her admiration for exquisite Barbie doll dresses led to an extensive Barbie doll collection, which she enjoyed sharing with her granddaughters throughout the years.
In June of 1959, she married Clair C. Randall. They had four children: Kristin, Kelli, Jason and James.
After getting all four children off to school in their earlier years in Idaho Falls, she went to work on the switchboard at Tel-Answer. She quickly became Manager of Tel-Answer answering & paging service in Idaho Falls and Pocatello. Eventually, she became a managing partner and the family moved to Boise, Idaho. While managing the answering service, Virginia joined and served as President of Zonta Women’s International, and as a member of the Chamber, she served as President of the Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce. After they sold the answering service business, Virginia and Clair and the two boys moved to Texas, and then to Colorado, where Clair worked in the nuclear power generating business.
After those adventures, Virginia and Clair moved back to Idaho Falls, where Virginia began her pursuit of her education and received a bachelors degree in computer science from BYU–Idaho and a masters degree in systems administration from Idaho State University. Although she finished her dissertation, she did not obtain her Doctorate Degree.
After obtaining her degrees, she worked with various contractors at the Idaho National Lab. Just before she retired, Virginia taught Project Management nationwide for ESI, International. Her biggest Project Management client was Sprint in Schaumburg, Illinois.
Some years later after CC passed away ,Virginia met Doug Jenkins of Thayne, Wyoming. They were married in Las Vegas and served a full-time mission together for the Church Education System in the Georgia Macon mission. They were later divorced.
Virginia loved her many grandchildren. She had a special relationship with each and every one of them. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Marcia. She is survived her four children, eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
Burial will take place at the Fielding Memorial Park, but Virginia would not want her family traveling to snowy, cold eastern Idaho at Christmas so a celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
